Property agents needed to browse and update property stock, find nearby listings and manage clients from a mobile device instead of relying on office-based stock lookups. The brief called for native iOS and Android apps, because a web-based version would not meet the performance the agents needed, and for a secure back office covering several regional property databases.
Servadra designed and delivered a native iOS and Android application for Savills' agents, together with the content management system behind it. This mobile app development and systems development work gave agents secure sign-in, a feed of new and updated stock, nearby properties on a map or through an augmented-reality camera view, multi-criteria stock search, on-device stock creation with photos, and client lookup with portfolio and transaction history. The back-office system keeps a separate database for each region (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Macau) with fourteen modules that can be switched on or off per market, and visibility rules by department and region. The engagement ran from a 2015 proposal through requirement sign-off in January 2016 to maintenance and roadmap work into 2017.
An agent signs in, reviews the new and updated stock feed and opens nearby properties from the map or the camera view. New stock is captured on the phone with its location, details, photos and a memo, then synchronised to the back office for review. Back-office staff manage stock, clients, notifications and reports through the content management system, with access limited by department and region.
